Juniperus Sq. "Holger"

Juniperus squamata 'Holger' is a striking, low-spreading evergreen conifer prized for its dynamic color and graceful form. Growing to approximately 60–80 cm tall and 1.5–2 meters wide, it forms a soft, mounding shape that fits beautifully into rock gardens, borders, or as ground cover.

The standout feature of 'Holger' is its creamy-yellow new growth, which contrasts vividly against the mature steel-blue foliage. This two-tone effect provides seasonal interest and visual texture, especially in spring when new shoots emerge.

This cultivar thrives in full sun and well-drained soils, tolerating drought and poor conditions once established. It is also deer-resistant, pollution-tolerant, and requires very little maintenance, making it an excellent choice for both home and commercial landscapes.

‘Holger’ is an ideal option for gardeners seeking year-round evergreen color, seasonal contrast, and a hardy, compact shrub that won't outgrow its space.
