Juniperus Sq. "Blue Carpet"

Juniperus squamata 'Blue Carpet' is a prostrate, fast-spreading evergreen conifer prized for its vibrant blue-silver foliage and dense, low-growing habit. Typically growing 15–30 cm tall and 1.5–2 meters wide, it forms a thick, trailing mat that hugs the ground, making it ideal for use as ground cover, on banks or slopes, or in rock gardens.

The foliage consists of sharp, needle-like leaves with a brilliant silvery-blue hue, giving the plant a striking appearance throughout the year. In colder climates, the foliage may intensify in color or take on a slightly purplish tint in winter, enhancing its visual interest.

‘Blue Carpet’ thrives in full sun and well-drained soils, and it is both drought-tolerant and deer-resistant once established. It’s highly adaptable and requires virtually no pruning, although it can be lightly trimmed to shape if desired.

This cultivar is perfect for gardeners looking for a colorful, hardy, and easy-care plant that provides a soft, trailing texture and weed-suppressing ground cover.
