Pinus Mugo "Pumilio"

Pinus mugo 'Pumilio' is a dwarf, evergreen shrub form of mountain pine known for its compact, spreading growth and bushy, rounded habit. Over time, it grows to about 0.6 to 1 meter in height and 1.5 to 2 meters wide, making it ideal for small spaces or low-maintenance plantings.

Its short, dark green needles are densely packed and maintain their rich color throughout the year. 'Pumilio' grows slowly and forms a natural, irregular mound that adds structure and evergreen color to various garden settings, including:

• Rock and alpine gardens

• Terraced borders

• Coastal or urban landscapes

• Containers and rooftop gardens

This variety thrives in full sun and well-drained soils, tolerates poor, sandy, or rocky conditions, and is extremely cold- and wind-hardy. It requires very little pruning and is also deer-resistant and drought-tolerant once established.

Pinus mugo 'Pumilio' is a favorite for gardeners seeking an ornamental, rugged evergreen that performs well in harsh environments with minimal care.
